Finished… but not finished

A quick update. We finished 1913 Massacre in mid-July, but of course… we aren’t finished.

The finished film runs 65 minutes. We are now submitting to festivals, making plans to tour with the film, bringing it to schools and towns, and working on two upcoming centenaries: Woody Guthrie’s 100th birthday in 2012 and the 100th anniversary of the Italian Hall disaster on December 24th, 1913.

We’re also re-doing this site — as you can see. The new site will include a much much nicer design, more information about our project and updates on where the film is screening.

So please accept our apologies for the work in progress, and be sure to check back soon.

I had not heard about this until today. There was a blip on Facebook. I am looking forward to seeing this. I grew up hearing about this but not much info seemed to be known. My father was born in 1913 at Bete Grise.

I read your great news about 1913 Massacre about to come out! I have been trying to follow your progress since I was honored to be interviewed as one of the descendents of an Italian Hall survivor, my grandfather John Bosio (John Posijo/Posio), who was able to leave the building through the summer kitchen with two of his children.

How interesting!!I cant wait to see this film. My Great-Grandfather John Kemp lost His life in 1914 labor strife up there. I have been back to try and find records and reasons but unfortunately records have been lost to fires etc. over the years. However I plan on making the trek once again to try and uncover more details .
